Project for a ski-resort in Rauland, Norway.
For this project I got to ask the drone-surveyor we used to take lots of photos in a dome configuration (or close) so I could generate a photogrammetry model of the mountain side as we were not supplied with anything. This was quite successfull compared to trying to hand model on a hunch with 2d maps, but required a fair ammount of clean up as the mesh had trouble areas where the trees were.
I had to build 4 different cabin configurations with varying material finishes, as they deliver them with several options in colour and facade building techniques.
Snow for the project area and the roofs was generated as several hires meshes, but proxied out due to 3dsMax slowing down.
I set up a dynamic frost/snow system with shaders and displacement that conformed to the objects so snow would slope up on walls, and fade to a frosted version of the respective object's shader. Post in Nuke for automation of updates. Photoshop for cleaning the photos.
